MASENO UNIVERSITY HITS13.

Maseno University will be celebrating its 13th batch of graduates since inception and on the same releasing them to face the harsh realities of the world in December, this year.
This will apply to all students from all schools except from the school of medicine which is the newest school to be established in the seasoned Institution.
The school which is under the stewardship of Professor Wilson Odero as the dean, is harbored with a team of medical professionals and practitioners and, is accredited by the Dentists board to offer medical training and specialization in Kenya.
The school currently offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) with Information Technology degree programme.
The MBChB degree programme is offered on a full time basis for a time span of six academic years which are further divided in three semesters. Also, the curriculum is classified into three levels; Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 which guide the students in their learning process.
Level 1, in the 1st and 2nd years of study introduces the learning of the Normal structure and functions of the human body; Level 2, in the 3rd year revolves around Pathology and Psychopathology; and Level 3, in the 4th to the 6th year stresses on clinical management of patients with different disorders.
Lack of health facilities and medical practitioners in the region pushed for the establishment of the school which was regarded to be pivotal and sentimental towards the growth of the University as a whole, Western and Nyanza regions and the country to the extreme.
Its first batch of graduands, who will graduate in 2016, will be equipped with adequate knowledge, skills, professional attitudes and competence in clinical care, community health and tropical medicine to provide quality service in Kenya, regionally and beyond.
In addition, they will be armed to carry out health researches, and play a significant role in generating new ideologies through prospective research into molecular and cellular aspects of diseases through clinical care and to disease prevention.
Previously, Maseno University was rated the best Public University Nationwide in Web metrics after University of Nairobi (UoN) and brags offering its courses with Information Technology (IT) to the large demographic figure of its students.
