Saturday ,19th October 2013 remains one of the outstanding milestones in my lifetime. A day that I managed to engage one on one with less fortunate and isolated groups in the community; among them being people infected and affected by HIV .My visit to Maisha orphans and widows in the suburbs of Kisumu city was not only an inspiration to the children but also a motivation to my destiny; A realization that whatever little you have as charity to a colleague, it remains a lifetime treasure to one’s destiny. I’ll take a moment to share with you some of the photos we took while there. Some of the snapshots speak eloquently of the woes and fiasco facing the less fortunate in such a set up and perhaps any other setting the world over. Such huddles are universal and this arises from the fact that in case of their occurrence, we are affected either directly or indirectly. It is therefore worth noting that we do not have an African problem, we do not have an Asian problem, we don’t have a European or American problem; we have problems affecting the destinies of mankind all over the world. Therefore, it is paramount to strive to make a positive change in the destinies of man. We are one as a family irrespective of our geographical incongruity,
Take this from me: there is much we need to learn from such
people. I’m obliged to buy the idea that one might never acknowledge the
significance of a character, possession, asset etc. until such a time when he
or she finds it unavailable. You owe a great aspect of gratitude to the
Almighty no matter what you are going through. It’s a personal finding through
observation and any criticism is welcome.
We are in a society tied with various vices. We are the
change we need, the transformation we need, the inspiration we need and yes the
source of our very own self-satisfaction. Let us strive to leave our niche of
existence in a better state than we found it.
Let us all and sundry arise for the betterment of our very
own lives and destinies of mankind all over.
